With People Deliver Projects from the start - Founder and Managing Director of the business.
Role: As well as managing the business and new business development, Andy manages assignments, delivers consultancy, event facilitation, training and coaching.
Where he fits in: The team’s ‘all-rounder’. Design and delivery, spanning the full spectrum of project and change delivery, from process expertise to people skills and leadership.
Getting to here: Andy is a trusted deliver of (in broad numbers) around 500 consultancy, coaching and training assignments over 15+ years with around 100 clients. People Deliver Projects is his second successful business after a short spell in ‘big consultancy’, which was ‘good, but not for him long term’. Before that Andy had an eclectic Aerospace career with Rolls-Royce and British Aerospace; starting out as an engineer, and then in product marketing and strategy, at various times a project manager. Then he became a factory manager, and finally business general manager.
Andy’s view: I started the business in 2006 because of what appeared to be a remarkable gap in the world of project management, namely a failure to recognise that the primary challenges are human (not process), and I worked with many project people who badly needed help with this. I couldn’t find it, so decided to have a go. Now we have grown and have 80 great customers, (who seem to agree), and having broadened into lots of different areas with similar needs, I am more sure than ever. I want us to be an antidote to the sterile world of project and change management.
Education: Engineering degree from Loughborough and an MBA from Warwick.
In real life: Despite creaking limbs, anything involving adrenalin, usually on rock, snow or the sea.
